A UserTesting contributor completes tasks on websites, apps, or prototypes. They speak their thoughts or fill out questionnaires. There are three types of tests:

- Live Conversation: You chat with a UserTesting customer during a designated time via video call. They'll ask you what you think about products or experiences in a casual conversation.

- Recorded Test: These self-guided tests (sometimes called unmoderated tests) are taken on your mobile or desktop devices on your own time. You'll complete tasks and questions while you speak your thoughts out loud.

- Survey: You fill out questionnaires on any device without screen, audio, or video recording. Just focus on the questions and be honest.

As long as you’re at least 18 years old, you don’t need any special experience to get paid to test. UserTesting customers want to gather your unique perspective, so all you need to do is share your thoughts out loud or fill out surveys using your mobile or desktop device, no prior experience required!

We require all applicants to speak English, German, or French during their practice test. While you don’t need to be a native English, German, or French speaker to apply, you do need to be comfortable reading, writing, and speaking in English, German, or French to be a UserTesting contributor.

Additionally, once you’re accepted to the UserTesting Contributor Network, you can take tests that require other languages you speak if they become available.

Nope! UserTesting contributors are located all around the world. We accept contributors from many countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and more.

Please note that if you’re traveling to a different country, please don't take tests during your travels. Your location won’t match the country stated in your profile. This is important because many of our tests incorporate location-based services, and this must be accurate to be valuable to our customers.
